Professor Van de Walle receives prestigious American Vacuum Society award

Chris G. Van de Walle, Professor of Materials, is the recipient of the 2013 AVS Medard W. Welch Award, the premier honor given by AVS, the Science and Technology society. The citation reads "For seminal contributions to the theory of heterojunctions and its applications to semiconductor technology, and for elucidating the role of hydrogen in electronic materials." Professor Van de Walle received the award at the AVS International Symposium and Exhibition, Long Beach, CA, October 27-November 1, 2013.
